About freelancetax.dev

Our Mission

Freelancing is rewarding, but the tax side can feel isolating. There is no payroll department to handle withholding, no HR team to answer questions, and a lot of conflicting advice online. We built freelancetax.dev to give every freelancer and self-employed worker access to clear, free tools that make tax season a little less stressful. No jargon walls, no paywalls, no upsells.

How It Works

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you type a number into one of our tools, it stays on your device — we never send it to a server, store it in a database, or share it with anyone. There are no accounts, no cookies tracking your finances, and no email gates. You open the page, use the tool, and move on.

Our calculators are based on current U.S. federal tax rules, IRS standard rates, and widely accepted formulas. We update them when rates and thresholds change so the numbers you see stay relevant.

Who Built This

freelancetax.dev was created by a small team that has been through the freelance tax learning curve firsthand. We know what it feels like to stare at a Schedule C for the first time, wonder how much to set aside for quarterly payments, or debate whether an S-Corp election actually makes sense. We built the tools we wished we had when we started.
